10-word summary: Exciting and thrilling story about a boy and Greek mythology Rating: 5 stars

Review: I gave this book a five star rating because I believe it was an awesome book and drew me into the fantasy world in which the main character lives in . The book tells the story of New Yorker Perseus Jackson or Percy. He is a young twelve-year-old boy who has ADHD and a form of dyslexia. Percy is constantly being kicked out of boarding schools and can't seem to find an understanding school. A very unusual event occurs while on a field trip with his class, but everyone acts like nothing happened. His close friend starts acting weird when he talks about it so he knows it really did happen. Soon he discovers that Greek mythology is actually real and he possesses powers from his dad who is one of the Greek gods. Percy is then shipped off to a summer camp with some complication getting there. He must harness his powers and go on a quest to find an extremely powerful item belonging to the king of gods Zeus. Percy must also find his mother who was taken by the god of the underworld Hades, and bring her back to him. He goes out on a treacherous and dangerous path with the help of his friends to find the powerful item and rescue his mother, meeting new foes and troubles along the way. Overall I believe the book was excellently written and has a great plot and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Favorite quotation: page 73 "Who are you, Chiron? Who...who am I?"
