Review by: Catherine F. Author: Leigh Bardugo Number of pages: 356 pages 10-word summary: Enemies become friends that deceive, no matter who you are. Rating: 4 stars Review: I really loved the book, it's just that there was waaaaaaay to much romance and I ended up skipping over 5 pages every time there was kissing because I really did not want to read that part. Shadow and Bone is about a girl named Alina, an orphan who is now a mapmaker for the army with her childhood friend, Mal. While traveling the deadly dark streak through the map that Alina has copied down so many times, The Shadow Fold, something happens to Alina when Mal is almost killed. All Alina knows is that she is alive, Mal is alive, and she is being questioned about something she had no idea she could do. She is forced to question everything she knows about herself, she doesn't even know who she is anymore. Favorite quotation: "He knew the look of a man defending his home with nothing but a rock in his hand."
