Review by: Sydney G. Author: Marissa Meyer Number of pages: 387 pages 10-word summary: Science Fiction meets Cinderella, filled with mystery and action. Rating: 5 stars Review: The book Cinder is a combination of science-fiction, mystery, action, following a similar storyline to that of the fairy tale Cinderella. The main character Cinder is a renowned mechanic in the streets of New Beijing and provides for her family that doesn’t care for her and is downtrodden for being a cyborg. Her android companion Iko is quirky and good for a laugh, trying to be human by acting like one. But when Prince Kai, the idolized heir to the Eastern Commonwealth throne, walks up to her stall with a malfunctioning robot, her life is turned upside down. And as a plague creeps into city limits and a tyrannical queen watches from the night sky, everything Cinder knew unravels. I enjoy how even though you know how the story of Cinderella goes, there are so many surprises and interesting twist and turns in this book and page after page you’re interested and entertained. I highly recommend this book to anyone reading this. Favorite quotation: "The quilt that rested across Sacha's nose and mouth shifted with her belabored breathing. Her eyes were glossy, as wide as Cinder had ever seen them. It was the only time she could remember Sacha looking at her without disdain." - Cinder, Page 151
