Review by: Kai S. (Period 2) Author: Neil Gaiman Number of pages: 224 10-word summary: None Rating: 4 Stars Review: The book on the whole is very interesting and has some ideas that are very interesting to think about. There really does't seem to be anything wrong with it, until the very end. I won't spoil it, but the way the problem is solved in the end feels like a cop-out, and it's clear that the author had written himself into a corner. There's also a reveal at the end that is somewhat confusing, and takes a bit of figuring out. Also, being a prequel, this book contains a lot of information, ideas, and characters that will be unfamiliar and confusing to the reader if they don't have an understanding and knowledge of the characters and ideas in the main series. Favorite quotation: "Once every month George Portcullis has a most peculiar and recurring dream. The dream contains a number of things that make it peculiar. For a start, when he is not dreaming, his name is definitely NOT George Portcullis. He is certain of that. Perhaps, when he is awake, he is a woman. Or a child. Or a butterfly." -Page 11
