This is a fun new take on a fantasy trilogy: it mixes the old west with magical powers, acombination I hadn't seen done quite like this before. The heroine has the ability to sense gold and a need for revenge. There is also (of course) hints of a love story with her long-suffering male best friend. I absolutely loved Rae Carson's Girl of Fire and Thorns trilogy, so I pre-ordered this book as soon as I heard about it. I'm excited to see where else she goes with this story!
In short: Read this book if you like stories about people with special powers, but you're in the mood for something new.
